BEES (Building for Environmental and Economic Sustainability)
By National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Building and Fire Research Laboratory. Software for balancing the environmental and economic performance of building products. BEES measures the environmental performance of building products by using the environmental life-cycle assessment approach in ISO 14000 standards.

Business and Climate Change Web Site
By Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI). Focuses on business opportunities and risks related to the growing concern about global climate change. Includes case studies and quizes.

California Materials Exchange (CalMAX)
By California Integrated Waste Management Board. A free service designed to help businesses find markets for non-hazardous materials they have traditionally discarded.

Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP) Database
By US Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT). A database of product-specific information (e.g., environmental standards and guidelines or contract language) developed by government programs, both domestic and international, as well as third parties.

EPEAT
By Green Electronics Council. The Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) is a procurement tool to help institutional purchasers in the public and private sectors evaluate, compare and select desktop computers, notebooks, and monitors based on their environmental attributes. EPEAT also provides a set of performance criteria for the design of products, and provides an opportunity for manufacturers to secure market recognition for efforts to reduce the environmental impact of their products.

GEMI Local Water Tool (LWT)
By Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI). A tool for companies and organizations to evaluate the external impacts, business risks, opportunities and management plans related to water use and discharge at a specific site or operation. The GEMI Local Water Tool™(LWT) for Oil and Gas is a tool customized for petroleum companies.

GOV.UK Waste and Environmental Impact
By The Environment Agency. Information about starting up and running a business in the UK, including waste management plans, hazardous waste and preventing pollution.

Green Conference Initiative
By US Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT). Opportunities for conference planners and suppliers (e.g., hoteliers, convention centers, and food service providers) that can help reduce pollution, energy use, and water use at a conference.

Green Vehicle Guide
By US Environmental Protection Agency. Find information about the air pollution emissions and fuel economy performance of different vehicles.

Greenhealth Tracker
By Practice Greenhealth . Helps health care facilities with a plan of action for reducing waste. This environmental data tracking tool helps your facility understand how hundreds of thousands of waste disposal dollars are being spent and organizes information by each type of waste.

Mercury Eliminiation Strategies
By Practice Greenhealth . Many hospitals have already made the move to virtually eliminate mercury. While the order of the steps can vary from facility to facility, the framework for elimination remains consistent. Work with the facility to enact the following steps to eliminate mercury.

My Green Apps
By US Environmental Protection Agency. Find more than 100 apps that developers have made about the environment. You can sort the apps by topic or platform, or suggest an existing app you think EPA should add to the site.

NetRegs Pollution Prevention Guidelines
By The Environment Agency. The Environment Agency, Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) and SEPA have produced a range of UK-wide Pollution Prevention Guidelines (PPGs). Each PPG is targeted at a particular industrial sector or activity and aims to provide advice on statutory responsibilities and good environmental practice.

Paint and Coatings Consumer Information
By National Paint and Coatings Association. Provides handy information on paints, including paint estimators, lead paint advice, what to do with leftover paint, and industry facts.

Persistence, Bioaccumulative, and Toxic Profiler (PBT Profiler)
By US Environmental Protection Agency. The PBT Profiler was developed as a voluntary screening tool to identify pollution prevention opportunities for chemicals without experimental data.

Proform
By Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. ProForm is a software tool designed to support a basic assessment of the environmental and financial impacts of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. Given the necessary data, ProForm calculates basic financial indicators and avoided emissions of CO2 and local air pollutants expected from a project. Registration required.

RCRA Biennial Report Data Files
By US Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Solid Waste. The Biennial Reporting System (BRS) is a US national system that collects data on the generation, management and minimization of hazardous waste. BRS captures detailed data on the generation of hazardous waste from large quantity generators and data on waste management practices from treatment, storage and disposal facilities.

Recycler's World
By RecycleNet Corporation. A world-wide trading site for information related to secondary or recyclable commodities, by-products, used and surplus items or materials.

SOLV-DB
By National Center for Manufacturing Sciences. Information on commercially available solvents including health and safety considerations, chemical and physical data, regulatory responsibilities, and environmental fate.

Water Sustainability Tool
By Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI). Assists individual companies and other organizations to better understand what emerging water issues might mean for them, given their operations, needs, and circumstances. The tool is designed to help individual companies build a business water strategy.
